Ukrainian weightlifters are among the strongest in Europe! 🇺🇦🏋️♀️
The European Weightlifting Championship among juniors under 20 and youth under 23 years of age has ended in the city of Durres (Republic of Albania), where the Ukrainian team once again demonstrated a high level of skill, strength and team spirit.
Our country was represented by 23 athletes who won 25 medals, 9 of which were gold! 🥇
💪 Team results of Ukraine among 39 European teams:
✔️girls under 20 years of age — 🥇 1st place in Europe;
✔️girls under 23 years of age — 6th place;
✔️boys under 20 years of age — 🥉 3rd place;
✔️boys under 23 years of age — 4th place.
The absolute champion among youth under 23 years of age was Olga Ivzhenko🥇 (weight category up to 58 kg). She broke away from her rivals by 21 kg, showing a result of 210 kg in the total lift (95 kg in the snatch, 115 kg in the clean and jerk).
Among juniors under 20, Danilo Chinyakov🥇 (weight category 110 kg) won the absolute leadership, setting two new records - in the snatch (171 kg) and the total lift (374 kg).
🏆 Iryna Dombrovska🥇, Maksym Dombrovskyi🥇 and Bohdan Goza🥇 also won the championship gold, and Alina Daderko (weight category up to 63 kg) replenished the team treasury with three silver awards🥈.
In addition, we have two more record holders under 17:
🔥 Kateryna Malashchuk (weight category up to 48 kg) - set records in the clean and jerk (94 kg) and the total (170 kg), winning two bronze medals for the national team;
🔥 Serhiy Kotelevskyi (weight category up to 88 kg) - a record in the snatch (146 kg).
Among the medalists of the championship are also Yulia Kovaleva, Vitaliy Daderko, Oleksandra Chmukh, Hanna Kalashnyk and Andriy Borovskyi.
These results are the fruit of the daily work of athletes and their coaches, the support of the Federation, clubs and everyone who develops Ukrainian weightlifting even in difficult times.
