
A Ukrainian strongwoman has become America's strongest woman.
Ukrainian Olha Lyashchuk became the champion of the 2024 America's Strongest Man & Woman competition.
The competition took place in Las Vegas. The Ukrainian scored 28.5 points, unrivaled by any other competitor.
"Olga came prepared to give everything she had to win, and she didn't disappoint! Olga embodies the American spirit: as an immigrant from a war-torn country, she found a community to call home while she rebuilt her life. Lyashchuk spoke about how important strongman has been to her life through the family the sport has given her here at the competition," reads a post on the tournament's Instagram page.
The strongwoman was born in Donetsk and lives in Irpin. Olga has won several prestigious competitions. In 2019 and 2020, she competed for the title of World's Strongest Woman. She also won the Arnold Strongwoman Classic and The Shaw Classic 2023.
In November 2021, the Irpin native took second place at the SBD Official Strongman Games, missing out on gold by just one point. In 2022 and 2023, the Ukrainian won the World's Strongest Woman.
