Day of Physical Culture and Sports in Ukraine.

Another wonderful national holiday is celebrated in Ukraine on the second Saturday of September - the Day of Physical Culture and Sports, which is dedicated to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, support for the sports movement and the development of physical culture in Ukraine. Today's holiday is a great opportunity to remind of the importance of sports in the life of every person and emphasize the achievements of Ukrainian athletes on the world stage.

History of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports

The Day was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No 340/94 of June 29, 1994. Of course, its main goal is to introduce the country's population to active sports and physical education. The holiday arose as part of the state program for the development of sports and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population.

It is generally accepted that sports and physical education are one of the main components of a healthy lifestyle.

Indeed, the lack of movement weakens the human body, and it is physical activity that helps to maintain the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems in working order.

The importance of physical culture and sports

During physical education and sports, the body consumes much more oxygen than in a calm state. Naturally, this has a beneficial effect on the work of all organs. With regular training, lung capacity increases, gas exchange improves, which tones the cardiovascular system, blood pressure decreases, and the risk of strokes and heart attacks decreases.

Naturally, one of the key tasks of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports is to promote a healthy lifestyle. In today's world, where people spend more and more time sitting, physical activity is more important than ever.

Sport helps to maintain physical health, strengthen immunity, develop strength and endurance, and also contributes to emotional well-being.

Traditions of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports in Ukraine

On this day, various sports events are held throughout Ukraine, such as, for example, kettlebell pushing, sack running, mini-basketball, tug-of-war, football tournaments, bike rides, long and short distance races, and physical education competitions are held in educational institutions. The winners are awarded with cups, certificates of honor and medals. At the same time, sports veterans, prize-winners and winners of international competitions are honored throughout the country.

Lectures are held everywhere that are devoted to a healthy lifestyle, training and proper nutrition. People go out into nature, gather with families and companies to play tennis or volleyball, and especially football, which is the most popular and favorite sport among Ukrainians.

The Day of Physical Culture and Sports is a holiday for all professionals and sports lovers: physical education teachers, coaches, students, athletes and graduates of specialized sports educational institutions, in general, people who lead a healthy lifestyle, actively engaged in physical culture and sports.

Let today's holiday inspire everyone to new sports achievements and become the starting point for an active lifestyle of all Ukrainians.
